The films Calle, Street and Jalan from the video installation Street Vendors (2018) will be part of the Amsterdam Wallen Festival 2024 and will be exhibited at Kanaal 40. Entrance at Warmoesstraat 66. June 22 and 23 from 12 till 5 PM.

My proposal Bijlmersymfonie (working title) was selected for realisation at BijlmAIR, the residency of CBK Zuidoost at Heesterveld in Amsterdam. I'm artist-in-residence there in Februari-March 2024 and will then prepare a public event in the garden of the Geldershoofd building, later in 2024, and a video coming out of the event. Next to CBK Zuidoost Amarte Fonds, Cultuurfonds, Stadsdeel Zuidoost, Stichting Niemeijer Fonds, Mondriaan Fonds and Rochdale are supporting the project. I have an Open Studio at Heesterveld on Sunday March 10, from 2 till 5 PM. Welcome!

Currently I'm working on Hoef van Eden, a permanent installation at the school yard of Campus De Hoef in Alkmaar. The work consists of a bridge to an island in a wadi, with a gazebo on stilts. Four trees surround and complete the artwork: one for each season. The hardwood bridge and gazebo are covered with 33,000 second-hand LEGO bricks. From a distance the art work reminds of a landscape painting. The opening is on November 1, 2023.

Video installation Street Vendors: Medellín, Tirana, Johannesburg, Yogyakarta (2018) is finally having its Albanian premiere. The work will be exhibited from October 25 till 27 from 10 AM till 10 PM at cultural center Destil Creative Hub in Tirana. Opening October 25 at 6 PM, artist talk October 26 at 6 PM. The solo exhibition is generously supported by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Albania.

Exclusively for the 2023 edition of BIG ART Bajes art fair I realise the site-specific spacial installation ✨Good Fortune - Bon Chans✨. The work is about the sale of medicines by vendors on the streets of Port-au-Prince, Haiti. I was there in 2009 and collected elements for this installation: photos, sounds, short videos, and objects. Next to this artist Reginald Sénatus filmed a longer video mid 2023. I'll build the installation with intern Caja Stenzler. Before BIG ART opens Haitian-born contemporary ‘vodou’ practitioner Fré Calm performes a cleansing ceremony inside the installation, for ✨Good Fortune - Bon Chanss✨. BIG ART Bajes takes place September 29 until October 1, 2023, 11 AM - 6 PM, Wenckebachweg Amsterdam.

For this year's edition of Zomersalon at CBK Zuidoost in Amsterdam I am chairman of the professional jury, which consists of Lard Buurman, Marcel van den Berg and myself. Opening July 22. Till August 26, with the announcement of the winners.

For The Energy Show - Sun, Solar and Human Power, curated by designer Matylda Krzykowski, I realised the six-channel video installation Zonneburgers (Solar Citizens). The work was commissioned by Het Nieuwe Instituut, museum for architecture, design and e-culture in Rotterdam. Opening i.c.w. The Solar Biennale on September 9. The Energy Show runs until March 5, 2023.

My work Untitled (Palestine 1948) has been selected for the online exhibition Exodus by Bijbels Museum in Amsterdam and Buitenplaats Doornburgh in Maarssen. From March 2023 on.

Together with two other artists I have been selected to make a preliminary design for an artwork in public space by the municipality of Alkmaar. One of three proposals will be chosen after our pitches on January 16, 2023 --- Update: my proposal Hoef van Eden was selected by the jury!

In December 2022 and January 2023 I'll work in Yogyakarta on the project Parade again with ambulant street vendors. It will be three years since my last visit there. In the meantime I wrote a composition in Amsterdam with the specific sounds of the vendors, together with composer Sinta Wullur. The aim in Yogya is to find the vendors and rehearse the composition. I'll be based at our home there and at Krack! Studio, and will be assisted by producer Iteq Fitri Kristiyoarti and conductor Mas Krimbi. Toko Su is the title of my presentation with a selection of works-for-sale at Bureau Europa, platform for architecture and design in Maastricht, during their exhibition Reis Bureau Europa. Opening September 2 from 4 till 7 PM. Until October 9 with a finissage from 3 till 5 PM. An article about Toko Su and my work in general appeared in Volkskrant newspaper.

New collages titled Witte Held #1: John Körmeling and Witte Held #2: Francis Alÿs are part of the group show Collected Works in the showcases of Kunst & Cultuur Amsterdam Centrum at Anthoniebreestraat. With the exhibition come a small book and a podcast. April 9 until September 17, 2022.
