There (Hounek in Arabic) and Here (Houne) - the light sculptures I realized during my residency in Amman - are part of the groupshow Quantum Vîs 5 in De Service Garage, Amsterdam. The show opens on June 27. Till July 19. Hounek is on the roof until early October.

June 23 till 29 my video 'Embedded' is launched at the online platform for artists OOG of Dutch newspaper De Volkskrant. In the video I'm on the road with MINUSTAH in Cité Soleil in Port-au-Prince.

June 6 till 13 I'm in NYC and Philadelphia for research, networking and meeting old artist friends like Ken Jacobs, Candy Depew and Jacob Hellman.

May 20 till June 6 I curate and produce City One Minutes Port-au-Prince, Haïti, made possible by foundation BKVB (now Mondriaan Fonds). I publish photos at flickr when working there.
We wrap up the project with a screening on Friday June 5 at 8PM at my suite in the Oloffson hotel. Bienvenue!

Crossing (Egypt, 2005) is part of the festival One Minute-One Shot at ACCEA, the Armenian Center for Contemporary Experimental Art, May 17 till 24, 2009 in Yerevan.

The exhibition THERE, part 2 deals with (im)mobility in the Middle East and contains works from artists from the Middle East - whom I got to know during my artist-in-residence in Amman - and myself. Opening April 25, 2009 in Petersburg Project Space from 8 PM on. Until May 16.

The city sounds #1 (Netherlands, 2005) is selected for Rotterdam VHS Festival at Version 09 in Chicago. April 29, 2009, 8:15 PM.

I designed the entrance gate for playground De Waag in Amsterdam, partly based on kids' drawings, commissioned by IJsterk. The inauguration by alderman Wil Codrington takes place on March 21, 2009 at 3.30 PM. Made possible by Amsterdams Fonds voor de Kunst.

Scraping (China, 2008) is in the final ten of the category Documentary of the festival Belgian Open. Cinema Sphinx in Ghent, Belgium, March 12, 2009.

March 4 till 8, 2009 I give a video workshop in Townhouse Gallery in Cairo, Egypt. Assigned by the European Cultural Foundation and The One Minutes.

December 3, 2008 until March 2, 2009 I'm the artist-in-residence at art space Makan House in Amman, Jordan, made possible by the Dutch foundation BKVB (now Mondriaan Fonds). The outcome of my residence is the solo exhibition THERE. The opening takes place on February 22 at 6.30 PM. 

On a daily basis I post photos and short stories on Fotolog during my residency in Amman, and my travels in Middle East. The project 'On the road with Su, a travelogue' is initiated and assigned by De Veemvloer.
